The Other Languages of Kenya Community archives materials for languages that do not fit neatly into the major Nilotic, Bantu, Cushitic, Asian Heritage, or Arabic Heritage communities, including languages of uncertain or disputed genetic classification, contact languages, sign languages, and emerging urban varieties.

This community includes: Makonde and Shona ; Kenyan Sign Language (KSL) — a constitutionally recognised indigenous sign language; Sheng — Nairobi's vibrant urban mixed language; and other minority and migrant language varieties with documented Kenyan speaker communities.
