This is a collection of Gikuyu language data and artefacts compiled without reference to any specific dialect. Gikuyu (also written as Kikuyu) is a Bantu language spoken primarily by the Kikuyu people of central Kenya, and like many living languages, it exhibits regional variation across the areas where it is spoken. The materials gathered here draw from the language broadly, and no attempt has been made to standardise, privilege, or exclude any particular dialectal form. As such, this collection is intended to reflect the language in an open and inclusive manner, and users should bear in mind that certain vocabulary, pronunciations, or constructions may vary from one community or region to another.
